I have two dogs, one a heinz 57 Spaniel cross-LYKA, who is 15/16 years of age and Rudi, a cocker in his fifth year.
Rudi nearly did not make his second month-he is playful, sometimes destructive, always greedy, voluble but the friendliest, most loyal hound on the planet-having been away from home on business a lot of late, he makes coming home a pleasure!

I was trying to find a site that would tell me if cockers needed their coats cut short in summer. Mine is a field cocker and she has short hair anyway but my husband said its supposed to be cut! Enjoyed your site-very informative.

I have a black working cocker (5 years), and until 2 weeks ago also had a blue roan (just short of 10 years)when he died after a short illness (blood disorder - jaundice & anemia) which took us by surprise as he alway appeared healthy and enjoyed long walks daily. They are a great breed and will hopefully have another before too long

thinking of getting a cocker, just lost my GSD. Wanted to know more about the tail carrage now they are undocked. So i have more of an idea just in case i decide i want to show again. So i must congratulate you for adding that bit in as many breed sites of previously docked breeds don't, might be because they are stilll unsure. Altogether a lovely and informative site. Well done and thankyou

Hello. We lost 2 of our 3 dogs to old age 13 & 14yrs old a Rough Collie and Black Lab late last year and now only have our lovable sad rough haired Jack Russell who is a brilliant friendly personality. I used to have a Golden Cocker and a Blue Roan many years ago and remember with fondness thier bright happy playful personality's and am now in the process of looking for a new friend for our Max. I loved this site and found speaking with the contact people most helpful. Thank You.

After the death recently of our two much loved working cockers,at the age of 14 1/2, we are trilled to have taken a rescue working cocker into our home, via this site. He is a delight and becoming a good friend to our Lab, who was feeling really lonely. Our new addition has already giving us great pleasure and has fitted into our home extremely well.

We have Maesy (from Maesydderwen lines- working) She is a beautiful 5 year old Blue Roan with a Standard Schnauzer-cross- rescue brother called Mack- age 4. She was lonely as a one year old and I believe having the second dog has made her much happpier as they love nothing better than a play fight now and again usually about 10pm!
She is a wonderful family pet who needs loads of exercise! She is fantastic at sending up birds in the local fields and a good dirty ditch to jump in!!! Lots of baths! She will eat anything! literally and loves tiny bits of cheese as a treat.
